The seventeen year wait is over. Illinois emo rock pioneers, American Football, have just announced their second studio album. 1999's American Football gained significant cult status following its release, with Allmusic reviewer Fred Thomas describing the songs as, "sound[ing] meticulously constructed without diminishing the easy, often dreamlike feel of the album. The record is defined by a sense of possibility and youthful discovery, and stands out not just as an anomalistic emo-jazz hybrid but as a lasting, iconic statement in the often blurry history of independent music."

Fans have been patiently awaiting a new release after their 2014 revival. Today, the band has announced that the wait is over. Their new record, also dubbed American Football, is out on October 21st. Hear their gorgeous new track, "I've Been So Lost For So Long" below.
